ABOUT THE WINE EXCHANGE
The Wine Exchange was opened in Old Hyde Park Village in 1990 by its proprietor Mark Smith, a local physician with a penchant for wine, with the help of Doug Clarke a sommelier at Bern's Steak House. Created as a Wine Bar, the Wine Exchange transformed into a Bistro while remaining committed to its emphasis on fine wine.
Originally located on the periphery of the shopping village the Wine Exchange moved to its current location in the heart of Hyde Park Village in March of 2008. The restaurant offers a full service bar as well as indoor and outdoor dining.
The managing partner, Rick Drummond, has been involved with The Wine Exchange since 1992. Michelle Murphy became associated with The Wine Exchange in 1993 and has been its general manager since 2005. Rick and Michelle strive to provide efficient service with gracious hospitality. They enjoy welcoming back our loyal Wine Exchange friends and always look forward to the opportunity to forge new friendships.
James Schleuter has been the executive chef since 1993. He is a graduate of the Academy of Culinary Arts in Atlantic City. Jamie has developed a menu with popular favorites and also offer innovative specials daily. Craig Dean joined The Wine Exchange in 1995 and is the director of wine. He continues to create an exciting and diverse wine list ranging from the esoteric to classic favorites. With over forty hand selected wines by the glass and an extensive selection of wines by the bottle, everyone is sure to find something to sip.
